Division Officer No More, Living with a Chronic Health Issue
Created By: Rossiter, Gloria On Tue, Jul 27, 2010 07:05 PM
Well, as some of you may know, I had to resign my commission as Treasurer for the California Division. Very heartbreaking for someone who is a bit on the perfectionist side of the coin; but very necessary for the good of the Division and for my health. I hope to continue my journey in IAAP, just a bit slower on the leadership side.

I continue to be active in my chapter as Newsletter Editor and member of the Education & Certification Committee (a pet passion for me) as well as a mentor to newer members. I hope to get back on the leadership track next year--being positive that my health issues will be managable--at least at the Chapter level.

All for now. Remember to live with pride, honor and integrity.

Gloria, I am totally awed by your decision to step down at Division Treasurer. I know the decision had to be extremely difficult for you, but I'm sure it was the right one. Courage like yours just shows your level of professionalism.
Gloria, I agree with Jessica. Your health comes first. Enjoy your family and that includes your IAAP family, but don't overextend yourself.
Gloria, there's nothing wrong with having to step down to take care of your health. You are in my thoughts and keep up the positive thinking; it is very powerful. I hope to be able to travel back over there sometime soon to attend another one of the San Diego Chapter's educational events. The September 2009 event was awesome and it was wonderful to meet you after all of our e-mail conversations. Take good care of yourself. Jess
